Two different styles of handwoven rugs are the last two Sievers classes of the season, Boundweave Rugs with Lynn Schuster and Rag Rug Weaving with Deb Sharpee. This week, the Boundweave students have explored color and design using heavy wool warp and wool rug yarn. All of the rugs have their own story, but this first one has an Island theme where the sheep have jumped over the fence and are making their way through the lavender fields before coming to a stand of trees, guarded by a woodpecker.
What a great array of colors and designs!
Each walk into the studio was a new “reveal” of pattern and color!
The same is true outside as the leaves start to carpet the ground. No blue sky backgrounds this week. Instead, the golden trees are lighting the roadsides.
Next week, Weaving Rugs, Part II!
