Last fall at the Sievers Gathering, one of the events along with the demonstrations, was a “Sit-and-Sew” to make charity quilts. Volunteers guided a number of people sewing strips of fabric onto muslin. Some of these quilts will be given to Kimberley House in Sturgeon Bay, WI. After all the strips were sewn (at the Gathering and beyond), Ann started working on the borders and backs. They are now ready to pass into other hands who will add batting and tie them before they are distributed. Thanks to all of you who were at the Gathering and added your stitches to this project!
Spring is arriving here and there, mostly through bird sightings. There’s no snow to speak of, but we still have ice in most of the harbors.
Only two months from today, June 2, will be our first day of class for the 2015 season. We’ve already cleaned the shop and have lots of yarns, books and new handmade items to fill the space. It promises to be another great year!
Note: Some of you may notice a (very occasional) duplicate newsletter posting, usually something from several months ago. This can happen when our website and/or WordPress is updated. We just wanted you to know that it happens and that we’re aware of this “feature”.
