We are well into the first class of our 38th season, Open Quilt Studio. Twenty quilters are still sewing on a variety of new and “continuing” projects, including one from a Doreen Speckmann class in 1993! It all started with moving sewing machines, special tabletops, swivel chairs and a quilt frame (not to mention fabrics and threads) into the studios. Let the quilting begin!

So many designs, fabrics and creative ideas are part of this week, they don’t all fit in this one newsletter! Look for more photos on the Sievers Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest pages.

One of the features of the Open Quilt Studio concept is unstructured time to explore and enjoy Washington Island and all it has to offer. I hope they’ve seen similar sights as this sunset over West Harbor and a great blue heron.

The quilts are quite beautiful…it is amazing the amount of talent that Sievers in beautiful but, somewhat remote Washington Island gathers.
You’re one of those talented people, Becky! Hope you’ll pay another visit this summer…
Your newsletters are always so beautiful, sensitive and inspiring. Thank you for being Sievers!
