Today is a good day to remember the quiet scenes from this fall captured these last two weeks on Washington Island.
And sunsets… before, during and after.
Take time for your own quiet moments, today and everyday, wherever you are!

I so look forward to next year on the Island.
It will be great to have you back next year, Rita!
Nailed it!!! Beautiful, beautiful
Nailed it!! Beautiful, beautiful
Thanks, Barb!
Simply spectacular, Carolyn. This is my favorite time of year, and I am way too far away to enjoy this lovely time “up there”. While I totally enjoy the pictures of your classes throughout your class season, I enjoy your pictures of Washington Island throughout the year even more so. Thank you for sharing the island with me. Your pictures are beautiful and provide me with great reminders of family visits over a period of many many years. Those visits started over 30 years ago with my very first class at Sievers, when my husband took care of our two small children while I learned to weave. During that week we discovered all those wonderful places you photograph. My best to all of you there, particularly Ann and Cindra. Thank you, Carolyn, for returning home, picking up your camera and sharing the island via email. We recipients are so lucky to have you there. Take care, all of you. Mary Dow
How thoughtful of you, Mary. I’ve gotten many comments like yours from students who enjoy seeing the changing seasons and views of the Island. It was wonderful to have you here a few years ago, knitting on other great Island locations. Ann and Cindra say hello and I look forward to sending you and many others a little bit of Sievers and Washington Island through the year!
These are beautiful.
Thanks, Nancy! The Island is such a great “canvas”.
Beautiful – very serene
We all need such quiet moments. Thanks for the comment, Judy.
Thanks for your pictures. I love the taste of serenity especially in comparison to the hectic city scenes that surround us.
Thanks, Teresa, we are blessed to have these quiet places in our hearts.
Thank you for another wonderful year–not only the time I was blessed enough to spend on the island, but the “like being there” feeling I get through your pictures. I always look forward to the newsletter. Have a safe and restoring winter!
Thanks, Rodna. We were so glad you were here in class and for some extra time, too. I look forward to sharing our Island winter with you, too!
Love your pictures, I feel like I am there. Such an idyllic place. Hope you all have a wonderful winter.
Thanks, Karen! For all who have been to the Island and loved it, part of it is always with you.
Photos are so beautiful. It makes all of us impatient to visit again. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Chris! We’ll look for another visit from you!
Talked with Karen Tembreull today, she told me she loves teaching at Sievers! She has taught at some large folk schools and said the Sievers experience has so much more to offer. She really looks forward to here time on the island.
Hi Mary,
Karen is a gem, that’s for sure! Hope you’re doing well. Take care, Carolyn
