The 2022 Shetland Wool Week free hat pattern was released early this summer and this year’s design is titled “Bonnie Isle Hat”. The waves and swimming fish sure made us think of our own bonnie isle! Here are the colorways suggested in the pattern using Jamieson & Smith 2-ply fingering weight yarn plus one other option. The first five photos below represent the colors used in the five hats shown in the photo to the right.
Keeping with the Shetland theme, we currently have all four volumes of the Shetland Wool Adventure Journals, the last being published mid-summer. In addition, Jamieson & Smith introduced four new colors and now all 101 colors are in stock at Sievers. You can see all the colors by following this link.
#9 Lime, #8 Coral. All J&S colors are $5.65 per ball.

And, as promised, a little pop-up of Washington Island scenery as our summer weather continues into September. There are very few hints of the season to come, but we’ll be watching!
Karen Olson says
Every time you send pictures of the island it transports us to our several wonderful visits there. We remember the amazing wild flowers. And the nights that were so quiet that we could hardly sleep. We also could see stars and more stars. And the beautiful people we met! And finally, we remember Cindra singing us the farewell song that told us that once we’ve been to the island we will never be the same!

Hi Karen, All of those things about the Island haven’t changed. We’ve heard there’ve been Northern Lights the last two nights, too. We’re glad you have such wonderful memories of your time here. Take care, Carolyn
