2026 Sievers Preview

January 7, 2026 By Carolyn Foss

February 1st will be here soon! That day, all of our 2026 classes will be open for registration and the class descriptions, along with complete information, will be available on our website.

Featured on the cover of the 2026 brochure/flyer is a Boundweave Rug, woven in Lynn Stracka Schuster’s class by Joan Sumkin.

Most of our instructors are returning in 2026 and some have returned after a year or more including Jackie Barry (Quilting), Karen Robison (she’s returning after many years to teach “Paper & Book Camp”) and Connie Westbrook (Weaving). Retiring from teaching at Sievers is Nancy Adams. Nancy first came to Sievers as a student in 1986, took 22 more classes and became an assistant instructor with Louise French. In 2007, she began offering beginning as well as intermediate weaving subjects for a total of 34 classes taught. What a wonderful legacy! Thank you Nancy, for your many years of teaching and friendship. We’re sure we’ll see her in class again…as a student!

New instructors/studio facilitators include Roxanne Gilbertsen teaching a Lace Knitting class and Mary Brhel, co-facilitating the Batik Alumni Studio with Anne Landre this year in place of Mary Jo Scandin. Roxanne has been a Sievers student since 2008, taking more than 30 classes in knitting, quilting and more. Mary first came to Sievers in 1985 and has also taken more than 30 classes, almost all of them Batik. Taking the 2026 season off as an instructor is Susan Hoffmann.

Again…registration begins February 1st. Classes that receive more registrations during the first week (Sunday, February 1 to Saturday, February 7 at 4pm Central Time) than have space available will be subject to a drawing and we will begin a waiting list for those classes.
