If you already love batiking and would like to expand your experience with its dyes and colors, this class will provide knowledge in both fiber and art. We will discuss techniques, inspiration, composition, color theory, and help you create your own beautiful designs on fabric. Bring your own projects and use your own style in creating batiks as garments, two-dimensional pieces or other fabrics to be used in mixed-media projects. This class guarantees an adventure in color!
Mary Jo Scandin’s students are motivated in their work by her enthusiasm for color and design. She has marketed her original designs nationally, and three children’s books feature her painted silk illustrations. She is currently working on illustrating a new children’s book in her Appleton, WI home studio. Mary Jo’s work can be seen at Seasons On The St. Croix in Hudson, WI and Blue Dolphin Gallery in Ephraim, WI. www.mjscandin.com
