Create your own textured art jewelry. You will learn basic metal fabrication techniques that include fold forming, cutting, filing, stamping, piercing, doming and soldering. Unique etched metal patterns can be applied freehand or from texture mats. Riveting will be demonstrated, as well as drilling river stones, using motorized hand tools, professional finishing, and working with silver precious metal clay. Lots of options, lots of fun!
Kay Rashka has taught jewelry metals classes since 2000, after taking a novice jewelry class 35 years ago. Her book, Bead Meets Metal, features Kay’s metalwork designs incorporating an eclectic mix of beads. Her work is available at the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art Store (MMoCA).
