The Scandinavian style of weaving is generally (but certainly not limited to) crisp squares with clean lines and simple designs using soft, pleasing colors and natural materials. Using Dräll or False Damask, Halvdräll, Monk’s Belt, Spot and Waffle structures, you’ll weave with cotton, cottolin and wool. All work well for towels, table runners and pillow tops as well as for scarves, shawls and simple garments; the possibilities are endless! Samples and drafts will be available for your inspiration. Your choice of 4- or 8-harness floor loom with weaving accessories provided.
Connie Westbrook has passionately pursued handweaving since her first Sievers class in 2003. Her work is inspired by and reflects the work of some of the most respected weavers in the country. She is active in study groups and has been published in Handwoven magazine. Connie believes that weaving is meant to be shared, which she does happily. No tags for this post.
