Learn how to prepare papers and fabric for marbling in a range of techniques and patterns, using acrylic paints, a carrageenan bath and a variety of tools. Experiment and create your own designs with classic patterns such as French Curl, Nonpareil and Bouquet, then use the more complex Italian Vein, Spanish Wave and overmarbling.
A life-long paper addict, Joyce Gitter discovered mesmerizing marbled paper on a trip to Italy. That led to her first marbling class and another addiction. A retired pediatrician, kids have shown her that the best way to learn is to play, and she sees marbling as magical child’s play. Joyce practices marbling magic in her home in Mequon, WI where she uses her papers and fabrics for cards, cartonnage, journals and collage. She has taught classes in paper crafting, cartonnage and journal making.
