Now in it’s fourth year on Washington Island, these past few days have been set aside to create Quilts of Valor.  From their website, “the mission of the Quilts of Valor Foundation is to cover service members and veterans touched by war with comforting and healing Quilts of Valor.”  Seven Washington Island-based “Under Our Wings” teams of coaches and rookies and two remote teams turned to their sewing machines these first days of March along with several individuals who assisted with backings, bindings and presentation cases.
