Working yarn is a knitting term referring to the strand of yarn that is connected to your project on the needles. Last week in the Creative Knitting Retreat with Mary Germain and in the Open Knitting Studio, there were many knitters working yarn in wondrous ways. Finished fashions to wear and show, projects in process, ideas and inspiration, and friendships and fibers were all knit together during the time here. A variety of Fair Isle, colorwork, lace, ethnic, three-dimensional and textural knitting along with good old reliable simple garter stitch and stockinette were in the works during the week. A perfect fit
