Of Workmanship and Scholarship

The beautiful workmanship by the students in Karen Tembreull’s Patchwork Birch Bark Basket class and in Nancy Frantz’s Beginning Weaving class has been one highlight of this week.    Even the raw materials are lovely!  Starting with these pieces of birch bark prepared by Karen, the layering and stitching involved resulted in eight special baskets.                         The weaving students have been busy learning the basics or renewing the basics of weaving on a floor loom.     Nature has it’s own workmanship and it was found just down the road in the Jackson Harbor Ridges area this week.
