This is the second in a series of pop-up shops featuring items made by the students and teachers of Sievers. Our “write stuff” shop focuses on cards, papers and books along with reading and writing tools. We’ll start with these paste paper cards which come in a pack of eight for $18.00.
A special book to write special words and special writing tools can record special ideas.
For handmade books, wrapping or card making, we have a variety of marbled papers. If a ready-made card is more your style, these woodland scenes are based on actual textile “painted” landscapes.
Single sheets of hand-marbled paper – $6 Printed Textile Art Cards – $4 each
When you just have to set down your writing or reading, these might come in handy.
Handmade eyeglass cases: Large – $16, Small – $14 Hardanger Bookmarks – $20.75
In book-related news, although book artist, Dan Essig wasn’t on our schedule in 2020, we’ve seen notice of an online Mica Book class he is offering this August 28, 29 and 30. And, our local bookstore, Fair Isle Books, has their own daily pop-up porch shop along with their always-open online store.
A spot of tea along with a book is just the thing, especially when you’re using handcrafted pottery. We have many colors of both the tea bag plates and mugs: blues, browns and greens. The Woven Images date book is an ongoing fundraiser for WICHP (the Washington Island Community Health Program). Twelve Washington Island residents wove samples based on photographs, each receiving a book with the actual woven pieces. The results were so pleasing, they decided to have the book printed with the proceeds from sales going to WICHP. (Although it is July, we wanted to feature the page of Ann’s woven image of Schoolhouse Beach.)
Speaking of Schoolhouse Beach, we think this view from the far north end of the beach is something to write home about!
Tea Bag plate – $8.50, Mug – $23
Woven Images date book – $17
To order any of these items, the best way is to reach us through our Contact page or give us a call at 920-847-2264. Postage and sales tax for Wisconsin residents would be added.
