This pop-up Sievers Shop is looking ahead a bit to the days when we will need to keep warm! We know how cozy these items can be since we often find ourselves selling them on the hottest days of the summer, like these three pair of mittens, made from upcycled wool sweaters, lined with fleece and featuring special embellishments ($75 each).
More upcycled wool mittens and hats are available in the shop along with chenille hats and knit headbands that will definitely keep the ears warm.

In terms of traditional and ancient Scandinavian warmth, we were looking forward to having Donna Kallner share her knowledge of Nålbinding, a needle stitching technique that produces thick, warm and wind-resistant wearables in one of the new classes offered this year, Viking Mittens. Although the class will have to wait, you can connect with Donna on Tuesday, August 25 at noon for a “Collection Connections conversation” via Zoom held through the Vesterheim museum.

I’m really enjoying your newsletter postings, photos and news. They remind me of Island fun and serenity, friends and creative insight.

Thank you, Lynn. It’s nice to be able to bring a little bit of Sievers and Washington Island to everyone’s home in this way.

Beautiful work! Makes me more lonesome to be there.
Marah, Renee’ & Mary Travis are helping me get ready for a moving sale. Don’t know what I’d do with out these beautiful people! I think I’m more in the way…not much help. Kind of hard….for Renee’ too. Over 60 years here. But…I’m very thankful for my apartment.
Enjoy the beauty of nature!
Hugs
Eileen
