Sievers Pop-Up Shop #5: The Hidden Items

We are lucky to have a lot of space in the Sievers Shop to feature so many beautiful handmade items from our students and teachers along with yarns, books and other fiber art goodies. In addition, we’ve got quite a few things which are pretty much hidden or cleverly tucked away from view. One of those spots is underneath the stairs that goes to the loft in the shop. Here we have Schacht Inkle Looms ($89), a cherry loom bench ($125), a Sievers cone and tube holder ($45), loom shelf ($90) and sets of two threading blocks ($20).

 

Stacked on shelves, upstairs and down, are many silk, cotton and rayon fabrics available by the yard and as scarves of all sizes.

Not only are fabrics stored here and there for dyeing, but there’s yarn, too. Bare Palette in sock weight and Wool of the Andes in worsted weight is on one of the shelves in the back office. Stacked in a box by the scarves are a variety of colors of Dharma’s Procion Fiber Reactive Dyes in 2 oz jars including Grecian Sea, Faded Denim, Nightshade, Mom Jeans, Cerulean, Orchid, Grape, Caribbean, Tropical Dream, Dances with Raisins, Brushed Steel, Sea Glass, Indigo Blue, Electric Green and Lime Pop.

Tucked away and covered up are several spinning wheels and drum carders that have been used in class. All prices reflect their used, but very good condition.

Not quite hidden, but around a corner, is the annual sale shelf of items from 20-50% off and books discounted by 50% with some at $5.00 each.

  2. The only thing missing from the virtual tour was Ann, Cindra and Carolyn, but I could hear their voices and felt connected. Like Lynn Schuster said, “I so miss Sievers this summer!” Things can only get better.
