February 1st will be here in just a few weeks! That day, all of our 2022 classes will be open for registration and those class descriptions along with complete information will be available on our website. The site will be in “maintenance mode” soon, but available again for registration on February 1.
Featured on the cover of the 2022 brochure are Coiled Baskets made by Sievers instructor, Lynn Stracka Schuster. Thank you, Lynn, for sharing your many fiber art talents with us and with your students! This past year was Lynn’s 40th year of teaching at Sievers.
Many of our instructors are returning in 2022 and we welcome two new team teachers, Karen Zeman and Jackie Barry. Both have been Sievers students. Karen’s first class at Sievers was in 1984, in Batik with Mary Jo Scandin, and she has continued to take batik and other classes at Sievers including Papermaking with Gisela Moyer. Jackie came for her first class in 2012, the Beginning Quilter Boot Camp with Mary Fons. She has taken many classes since then, mainly quilting with Ellen Graf, but also Temari and knitting. Karen will join Anne Landre for the Introduction to Batik class in August and Jackie will team up with Ellen Graf to offer the Quilting 101: Boot Camp class in September. Plus, we’re happy to have Janine Bajus return for her Fair Isle Vest Design class as well as Susan Hoffmann, who will offer Landscape ‘Painting’ with Fabric.
Again…Registration begins February 1st. Classes that receive more registrations during the first week (Tuesday, February 1 to Monday, February 7 at 4pm Central Time) than have space available will be subject to a drawing and we will begin a waiting list for those classes. All registrations received during that registration week time frame will be treated equally, that is, there’s no advantage to register at midnight on February 1st.

Do you plan to offer Willow Harvest and Weave this Fall?
Carolyn Foss says
Hi Mike, We aren’t offering the class formally, but in Jo Campbell-Amsler’s Natural Basket: Grow and Weave class in August, students will be harvesting some of the willow from the patch at Sievers. Thanks for asking! Carolyn
Suzanne Myers Otto says
The 2022 schedule looks awesome! Having already purchased a small floor loom (and not knowing how to use it), I enrolled in Susan Frame’s “Beginning Floor Loom” class last year. I learned a lot in this workshop and highly recommend it to others who want to learn to weave. Susan is an excellent, and patient, teacher. My classmates were cheery and good natured. So glad I took this class! I hope to return to Sievers soon.

Thank you, Suzanne and we hope to see you again! Susan is a wonderful teacher, we’re so lucky to have her share her talents with the students at Sievers. Take care, Carolyn
