Nothing Gold Can Stay

It was a beautiful fall and we’re grateful it lasted a good, long month. Consider this an ode to the fall colors and scenes on Washington Island.

Nature’s first green is gold,

Her hardest hue to hold.

Her early leaf’s a flower;

But only so an hour.

So dawn goes down to day,

Nothing gold can stay.

Our hearts hold on to the beauty of those colorful fall days until they come again!

  4. Loved this! I walk every day with my two Labs in the middle of a forest where I live in the County…we are certainly blessed to live here.

    • Hi Mary, Yes, it’s the start of our quiet time. Soon, we’ll be working on our 2023 schedule of classes. That will get us thinking about all the wonderful spring flowers that we’ll be craving after the winter months. Take care and hugs from all of us! Carolyn
