  • Dates: June 4-7 (2 pm Tue – 11 am Fri)
  • Class Fee: $400
  • Materials Fee of $45 inc. pre-reduced indigo dye and related chemicals, 1/2 yd cotton fabric, 2 silk scarves, set of your own acrylic shapes, use of instructor’s equipment and handouts.  (Additional fabrics and scarves will be available for purchase in the Sievers Shop.)

Description

Create infinite patterns on fabric using the Japanese technique of Shibori resist-dyeing, combined with the unique properties of indigo dye.  You will learn how to mix the indigo vat and experiment with various binding, folding, stitching and clamping techniques on cotton, silk and linen.  Jump into the blue!

 

Anne Landre is a textile artist who combines resist techniques such as shibori and batik with hand stitching.  She is a published poet, author and enthusiastic instructor who has taught children and adults for over 30 years.  Discover more about Anne and see samples of her work at:  www.threadingwater.com.
