A Sandhill crane here, a robin there, whitetail deer prints in the soft ground leading up to the sidewalk of the Sievers shop all indicate that we are transitioning into spring. Some shores are ice-free and some are still locked in, at least until the right wind direction comes along.
A 10-year plus tradition on the Island has been a St. Patrick’s Day parade. Starting at the Electric Co-op and ending at Karly’s where corned beef and cabbage are served, this year’s parade saw only a few marching participants, but they were heartily cheered on by a good number of parade fans (including the winter Sievers staff).
Boxes of new yarns, books and handmade items for the shop are coming in daily and we’ve registered over 290 students to date. It’s definitely springtime for Sievers!
