What a wonderful weekend we had! The workshops, Daryl Lancaster’s Friday evening program and the many events on Saturday, all surrounded by the loveliest weather. Seeing all of you who were able to attend the Gathering was the best part. Late Friday afternoon, the “Landscape ‘Painting’ on Fabric” workshop participants had some of their ready-to-frame pieces displayed. Friday evening, after cookies, coffee and cider, Daryl Lancaster presented her program “Parallel Threads that Parallel Life”, sharing her story and how it is incorporated into her garments. On Saturday, the garage sale led off the Gathering events. The total raised at the garage sale was just over $2,300.00. Besides improvements to the barn at Sievers, the proceeds will be shared with the Art and Nature Center and […]

What’s New in 2014
Tucked warmly inside the office at Sievers during these winter days, we continue to work on our 2014 season. We will welcome three new instructors this year, Julie Lambert (Machine Quilting), John Mullarkey (Tablet Weaving) and Kay Rashka (Etched Metalwork Jewelry). All three come recommended by both existing Sievers instructors and students and we’ve already had the pleasure of meeting John when he visited here for an afternoon last summer. Julie Lambert started quilting in 1985 and began machine quilting three years later. Now it is her specialty and favorite part of making a quilt. Her quilts have been juried into national shows and received awards along the way including Best Machine Quilting. Julie lives in Erlanger, KY and you can visit her and her quilts at www.julieylambert.com.
