With books and with baskets, generally it’s what’s held inside that may seem the most important feature. This week at Sievers, both the inside and outside are equally important. Daniel Essig taught two classes in book arts, Reliquary: Window and Niche and Greek & Centipede Stitch Book. At the same time, Jeanette Biederman’s Splint-Woven Basketry class has been in session. Treasures used in the making of these books represent family, Island and Sievers memories and no doubt, similar memories are woven into all the baskets this year and in so many past years during “basket week”. Winter Knitting, Basketry and Weaving
In these first three weeks of February, we’ve had over 250 students register for classes. Wow! We are looking forward to seeing many of you this summer and fall! In the meantime, our last Sievers in Winter classes were in session: Knitting with Sandy De Master and Mary Germain, Splint-Woven Basketry with Jeanette Biederman and Rich Prange, and finishing today, Weaving Workshop with Connie Westbrook. As of yesterday (February 19), Sievers has a presence on Instagram. Welcome to the New Website
We have made quite a leap forward with the hard work and help of our friends at 3W Design Media in Sister Bay, WI both in the design of our new website (what you see) and all the many intricacies within the site (what you don’t see). If you looked at the website only on February 1st or in the first week of registration, we invite you back to look at it again. There are some new features and some changes have been made that come after any new online adventure. We hope you like the new format.
