From the bright colors of the rainbow in Judie Yamamoto’s Weaving the Rainbow class to the muted colors of Midwest botanicals in Donna Kallner’s Natural Color class last week, every color you could imagine was on the loom, in the dye bath or on the line. Exploring color theory and weaving a color sampler along with a project of their own choice kept one group of students busy while the other group harvested and used goldenrod, bracken, barks, black walnut and more to make their own colors in order to dye yarns and fabrics.
