Washington Island summer
It’s time to share more photos of Washington Island, summer-style. Water levels are still exceptionally high. There’s water on the ferry dock and across the road leading to the Jackson Harbor town dock. The fields are filled with corn, summer blooms, butterflies, Whitetail Deer, Sandhill Cranes and hidden (and not-so-hidden) lavender. As far as an update on Island happenings in general, more events have been postponed until 2021, including the Death’s Door BBQ, Lions Club Fly-In Fish Boil and Island Fair and Scandinavian Dance Festival. A soft opening for the shop
For this Memorial Day weekend, we’ll have the shop open on Saturday and Sunday from 10-4. After that, the shop will be open by appointment. For appointments, please call 920-847-2264, contact us via email at mail@sieversschool.com, text 920-535-0863 or send a message to our Facebook or Instagram pages. As we gauge the number of visitors to the shop over the next few weeks, we may make adjustments to our schedule. One project this winter was making use of some unfinished pine lumber. A limited number of these single crates and attached-double crates are available for $20 and $35 respectively. Those words were used 40 years ago by Walter Schutz in the first Sievers School class brochure and for many years that followed. They’re still true today! Each year since classes began in 1979, we await meeting new students and reconnecting with returning student-friends. Not only are we waiting for you, so are the instructors, fellow classmates, the studios, dormitory, favorite Washington Island places and the Sievers shop.
